“The Dow High Varsity volleyball team battled against the Mount Pleasant Oilers, winning in 3 games with scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 26-24. It was a tough match but our team came alive in some very relentless rallies to fight for each point. Currently, we are 14-3 overall and 3-0 in the SVL. We travel to Waterford this Saturday to play in the Our Lady of the Lakes tournament.”
MOUNT PLEASANT — Dow High swept host Mount Pleasant 25-19, 25-18, 26-24 in Saginaw Valley League North volleyball on Tuesday to improve to 3-0 in league play.
“It was definitely a battle. I was very impressed (with Mount Pleasant),” said Chargers’ coach Amy Yuill. “I give a lot of credit to Mount Pleasant. They were really scrappy tonight.”
Madi Kuch led Dow with 10 kills, while Alyssa Stone added seven kills, Helena Atton had eight blocks, Kylee Juday had 26 assists, and Brianna Talt finished with 29 digs.
“I think, overall, we showed how strong we can be as a team,” said Yuill. “Everyone contributed. We worked for every point, and we had some relentless rallies where we came out on top. It was 100-percent commitment from each player.”
The Chargers (14-3 overall) head to Waterford for the Our Lady of the Lakes tournament on Saturday.
