The Dow High varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders had a successful day at the Mason Invitational last Saturday.
The Dow varsity team broke the school record of 228.5 in their first cheer by posting a score of 230.9. The Chargers placed fifth in their division out of 13 teams, and for the overall meet, the varsity team placed fifth out of 26 teams. They finish the regular season with an overall record of 17-7.
The Dow JV team finished its competitive season by placing fifth and posted a season-high score on its third cheer.
On Wednesday, the Dow varsity team took second behind Bay City Central at the Saginaw Valley League championships at Saginaw Heritage.
Dow is 25-8 and competes at the Division 2 district at DeWitt on Feb. 20.
