Turner spoke highly of Root’s tough win at No. 1 singles.
“McKenna beat one of the best players in the state and really kept her composure and showed a lot of maturity in her match,” he said. “She was a class act and played terrific in a match that got very heated.”
Dow now moves to the regional tournament on Thursday, May 14.
“Now, our focus moves to playing the best tennis of our season as we begin the first leg of the state tournament,” Turner said.
