GRAND RAPIDS – Dow High’s Nehemiah Mork won two individual events and the Chargers took second out of five teams on Saturday at the Forest Hills Central swim invitational.
Forest Hills Central won with 617 points, Dow scored 570, Grandville had 404, Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 354, and Grand Rapids Catholic Central 239. The Chargers were missing five team members who had other commitments.
Mork won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.41 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 47.07.
Dow’s Noah Behm won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.35. The Chargers also took first in the 200 medley relay (1:40.38) with the team of Alex Owens, Behm, Mork, and Jacob Krzciok.
Kevin White took second in the 500 freestyle (5:06.06), and Dow took second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:23.41) with the team of Krzciok, Lucas Braganca, Mork and White.
Taking third for the Chargers were Krzciok in the 200 individual medley (2:06.21), Ben Brandstadt in the 100 butterfly (57.26), and the 200 free relay team of Behm, Brandstadt, Braganca, and Zach Fewkes (1:35.62).
Taking fourth were White in the 200 free (1:54.22), Gage Bunker in both the 100 butterfly (59.31) and 500 free (5:15.52), and Brandstadt in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.16).
Taking fifth were Beau Matthews in the 200 free (1:54.25), Behm in the 200 IM (2:07.42), Steve Xu in the 100 butterfly (59.42), Krzciok in the 100 freestyle (50.77), Owens in the 100 backstroke (59.96), Ben Newman in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.78), and the 200 medley relay team of Xu, Newman, Bunker, and Brandstadt (1:47.72).
Taking sixth were Fewkes in the 500 free (5:18.55), and the 200 free relay team of Matthews, Newman, White, and Christian Beneke (1:38.36).
Taking seventh were Matthews in the 100 freestyle (52.69) and Xu in the 100 backstroke (1:00.26).
Taking eighth were Chris Ludington in the 200 free (1:59.76), Fewkes in the 200 IM (2:15.56), Braganca in the 50 free (24.53), Owens in the 100 butterfly (1:01.17), and Joey Park in the 500 free (5:28.91).
