FLINT — Dow High improved to 6-6 in Saginaw Valley League softball with a 9-6, 21-3 (four innings) sweep of host Flint Carman-Ainsworth on Monday.
Natalie Gransden earned the complete-game win in game one, allowing four earned runs on only two hits.
Kylee Alexander was 3-for-4 with two runs batted in for the Chargers, while Kathryn Altes was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Grace Pnacek threw all four innings and allowed one earned run on three hits to get the win in the nightcap.
Altes was 4-for-4 with three RBIs, while Gransden was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Katelyn Franks was also 4-for-4 with two RBIs.
“I’m very proud of the girls and the fact they continued to be aggressive offensively,” said Dow coach Jason Gehoski. “We’re working really hard on minimizing the mistakes defensively, and I was pleased with the consistency of both pitchers today.”
